This “band” construction aids with torsional rigidity and edge grip, but with much less weight than the full laminate found in the majority of the Volkl all mountain skis. The idea here was to get just a bit more firm snow strength and confidence for all skier types without losing the light, playful feeling that the Yumi is has come to be known for. The 2018 Skis maintain a Multi-Layer Woodcore and tip and tail rocker for effortless turn to turn transitions regardless of turn shape.
