I used this clamp on my 4 Runner CV boots … I used this clamp on my 4 Runner CV boots. The small clamps had loosened allowing greese to leak out and let water and other debris in. I removed the old clamps, cleaned the CVJ thoroughly (don’t skip this step), repacked them with Red Line CV- 2 grease, then installed the new clamp. They were longer than need so I cut them to the correct length. I used my Oetiker plyers (you need the proper tool to tighten these clamps) to sweezed the clamps. Good product First review in the world on Amazon! Here goes: Compared to oem type pinch type clamps, this is slightly “weaker/thinner” and perhaps narrower (similar to what can be found in many aftermarket boot kits that contain this type of band). However, they are strong enough to tightly seal boots, AT LEAST for light duty cars, using the ease of simply pinching the nipple thing.
