The ski’s 85 mm waist width feels quick edge to edge on groomers, but is wide enough to take off-piste without feeling overwhelmed. Balance is a great word to describe this ski. It has a balance of performance characteristics and also a balance of light overall weight and stability. It’s a great choice for intermediates and less aggressive all mountain skiers that want a relatively relaxed ski that can handle just about anything. The rockered tips and tails definitely boost the ski’s performance in off-piste terrain. They allows for pivoting and sliding turns even through variable, choppy snow conditions. It also helps keep your tips on the surface in deeper snow. On groomers this same rocker profile results in easier turn initiation. You can tip the ski onto edge and the rockered tip helps pull you into a carving turn. While it might not have the stability to handle super high speed skiing, all but the most aggressive skiers can really enjoy the easy, fun performance of the ThrilLUVit 85!
