They function well enough but are primarily canvas that is prone to tears, only padded in the center of the bag, not at the ends: We bought 4 of these bags for a ski-trip via plane…In our one trip back-and-forth, 2 of the 4 bags sustained significant tears at both ends despite proper packing/strapping of the skis.
