Need a few tweaks, and mine were missing parts I have to start off by saying that these racks are built pretty well. They seem to be pretty sturdy. UNSAFE STRAPS Bought these a year ago. Used them for the first time today. Put on our 2010 Toyota Highlander. Secured everything properly and used supplied straps to secure kayaks. Traveled a couple of miles in town at low speeds. Stopped before hitting highway to double check that everything was still secure. Still looked good. Got on highway at 60mph. Great alternative to expensive racks, but lacks a lock. Kayak mount was a great fit on my Thule rack for my Kia Soul. It has an adjustable fit which made it easy to secure to my rack. I have a 12FT Field and Stream that secured in it just fine, 2 ratchet straps (one over each rack) and one in the front and I was good to go. I have driven on both city and semi-highway (45-55 mph) with ease, its sturdy and does not budge.
